Murray, who trained the Coffs Harbour Cup quinella last week and a winner at Kembla Grange on Saturday, had first-starter Foxdell and consistent galloper Sacred Son both win.

A rails hugging ride from Brock Ryan helped Foxdell salute at the filly’s first visit to the races. Foxdell held off the fast-finishing Harriet’s Jewel to claim the Garfish Wines Maiden Handicap (930m). 

"She's got a bit of ability," Murray told Sky Thoroughbred Central. 

"We were a bit worried about the inside gate but she can gallop a bit.

"When they said there's going to be a late scratching I thought it was going to be her but we got away with it."

Murray joined forces with leading provincial jockey Jeff Penza to complete the double and provide Sacred Son with a well earned victory at his 14th start.

Sacred Son was placed in six previous starts leading into Monday’s 1435m test before finally breaking through under vigorous riding from Penza.

“He needed that today,” Murray said.

“We will probably give him a break now and bring him back around Christmas time.”
