Entrepreneur and concert tour promoter Michael Chugg will divulge behind-the-scenes secrets from his 50-plus year career and what it took to get Sir Elton John to perform in the city.
Chugg has toured over 600 international and Australian artists including Coldplay’s first arena and stadium tours in 2006 and 2012, and broke records with AC/DC’s Black Ice World Tour in 2010.
He’s known to push boundaries including being the first promoter to risk stadium shows in every capital city with Robbie Williams in 2006.
This year Chugg Entertainment has become the first promoter in history to skip the capitals and put faith in stadium sell-outs in places where Elton had never played before.
The lunch at WIN Stadium will see Mr Chugg speak alongside his long-time business partner Matthew Lazarus-Hall who will go into detail about Sir Elton’s economic impact to the region and how the success of the September concert could be leveraged to lure more international artists our way.

Mr Lazarus-Hall said the city was the only one with an early sunset start time to fans would get the most out of the venue and its ocean backdrop.
“You can’t predict it, but chances are it’s likely to be the stand-out of all Elton’s stadium gigs,” he said.
Chugg also has a slew of accolades under his belt including a Member of the Order of Australia for service to music and the performing arts, he’s been named Australia’s Father of the Year, and a lifetime achievement award by Rolling Stone for contributions to pop culture.
