A South Coast Register poll result has revealed a strong majority of Shoalhaven ratepayers believe they can not afford to pay their rates bill.

More than 80 per cent of voters said Shoalhaven rates are now unaffordable, after the recent hike implemented this financial year.
South Coast Register asked readers, “Is your Shoalhaven rates bill affordable?”
From 127 respondents, 104 said no and 23 said yes.
Results were collected in less than a day.
The poll remains open.
