A Nowra man has been arrested after attempting to break into an unmarked police car.

Plain clothes police attached to Shoalhaven Target Action Group caught the 44-year-old man attempting to gain entry to the unmarked vehicle in Parramatta Street, Nowra around 11am on Monday, July 17.
The officers were undertaking inquiries in the area and left their vehicle secured in the street and a short time later saw the man attempting to break into it.
Officers arrested the man and during a search allegedly found a number of communications items suspected of being stolen or otherwise unlawfully obtained.
The man was issued with a court attendance notice to appear at Nowra Local Court on a date to be fixed.
The items in the man’s possession were seized as evidence.
