The team came up against the deep southern warriors of Narooma Public School on June 29.
The first half was a tight affair with Sussex holding the bulk of possession. Kyra Paget hit a very good volley early in the match only to be saved by the brilliant Narooma goalkeeper.
Just before the end of the first half Maddy Harris hit a long range effort into the top corner to give Sussex a 1-0 half time lead.
The final score was 6-0 Sussex’s way. A special shout out must go to captain Jasmine Blundell who has been the defensive key to success.
At the break coach Adam Quinn spoke to the girls about putting the pressure on straight away and scoring an early goal.
They must have listened very well, because they came out firing.
Emily McNeil scored a brace within the first ten minutes of the second half. Maddy Harris took her goal tally to two and sister Issabelle also scored a brace before the end of the match.
The final score was 6-0 Sussex’s way. A special shout out must go to captain Jasmine Blundell who has been the defensive key to success.
The girls are still yet to concede a goal and Adam believes they can go all the way to the state final.
The girls now progress to round five against either Pambula Public School or Milton.
Adam congratulated the girls and thanked all the parents for their help.
