As a car enthusiast, Paul Speer understands the thrill of a burnout.
However, the Nowra Hill resident and Horsepower Garage owner doesn’t welcome the increase of burnouts on the corner of Braidwood and Parma Roads and the intersection at Turpentine Road.
Mr Speer said the intersections don’t present a pretty welcome picture.
“All the old waste in the middle of the road is a disgrace and it doesn’t look good as people drive in from Canberra to Nowra,” he said.
“It’s looks like you’re entering Mad Max territory.”
Mr Speer travels to Eastern Creek Raceway to participate in motorsports.
“It’s looks like they’re coming into Mad Max territory.

After the proposal for the motorsport complex proposal at Yerriyong was abandoned by Motorsports NSW and the Joint Regional Planning Panel earlier this year, Mr Speer said locals have nowhere to go.
“This spot has always been a bit of a burnout zone but it’s become worse in the last six months,” he said.
“I’m a car enthusiast but this isn’t the right place to go. It could cause a fatal accident.”
Mr Speer has contacted Shoalhaven Council and still has hopes that the Motorsports complex at Yerriyong will be established in the near future.
