The grants were previously announced as part of the annual Shoalhaven Sportstar of the Year awards.
In 2016 a decision to separate the awards evening and the grants was made.
The awards now coincide with the Shoalhaven City Council’s Australia Day awards, and the grants having its own stand alone announcement evening.
The first individual presentation of grants this year will be held on Friday, October 27 at the Bomaderry Bowling Club – who have been associated with the grants and sportstar awards for more than 10 years.
Applications for the grants, which over the past 33 years have handed out more than $300,000 to budding sportstar open Saturday, July 1.
Grants close on Thursday, August 24.
