IN men’s hockey over the weekend, Allsorts took on the Burrawang Bunyips in a tight game that lived up to the billing. It was a win in the end to Allsorts 4-2 but the game could have gone either way at various stages.

In the second game, Berry White kept Basin honest for the first half, with both teams unable to find the net. The second half saw Basin get an early lead and managed to get the points with a 3-0 win. Lachlan Butfield got a hat-trick with some clinical finishing.
In the last men’s game of the weekend, Berry Black were going to have to be at their best to play Burrawang Yowies, with Burrawang players Jed and Gus Schofiled being selected for the NSW Country squad. A tight first half saw Berry take a 2-0 lead, which was not going to be enough.
A tough struggle through the middle of the park saw no inch given but Berry Black managed to control the forward line and came out on top 6-0. The score did not reflect the quality of the match.
In the women’s games, Berry White came out hard and put Allsorts away 6-0. Shoalhaven Heads were short against ladder leaders Berry Black, but that did not stop them putting it to the Berry girls. Berry didn’t manage a goal until the second half and finally came away with a 4-0 win.
The final match of the weekend had Burrawang play Basin, with Basin winning 1-0.
