A significant number of cars were hit overnight, in what has been a spate of car robberies in Nowra this month.
“It’s very opportunistic,” Nowra duty officer Paul Hoyer said.
“Over one night you might have five to 10 cars targeted in a particular suburb.”
He said the thief had not attempted to steal the cars; they were merely interested in cash and items in the console.
He urged residents to lock cars and take valuables into their homes at night.
Police are looking for a suspect.
Residents with any information have been asked to contact Nowra Police Station on 44219699 or Crime Stoppers on 1800333000.
