AS they cried to be released from their prison cell a group of suspect characters raised money for an important youth cause.
The Shoalhaven’s PCYC’s Time4Kids was a great success and thanks to the 20 ‘dogey crims’ the fundraising tally will supass the $18 000 mark.
The PCYC’s original aim was to raise $10 000 and with more pledges to be added up, they could double their expectations.
A brave group of 20 people, representing a wide cross section of the community, all volunteered to be put behind bars at Stockland Nowra to support a great cause.
Shoalhaven PCYC Club Manager Jeff Morris would like to thank the “crims” for their efforts.
“We have also been overwhelmed by the community’s generosity,” Mr Morris said.
All the money raised will be used to help youth in the Shoalhaven by purchasing new equipment for them to use, food for the drop in centre, help them with their mobile programs which they take to areas like Ulladulla and much more.
