The inaugural Callala Winter Arts Festival set over this past long weekend was met with great success as locals and visitors participated in the fun, family activities.
Friday night saw a jam-packed opening for the festival, featuring an art exhibition by local artists as well as the students from Callala Public School.
Despite the dreary weather on the Saturday, the rain held out and families flocked to the beach to enter into the sand sculpture competition. Treats from food trucks set up at Callala Beach Community Hall were also enjoyed.
Sunday got everyone involved with painting demonstrations from local artists, Carol Black and Roslyn Chathem. Onlookers got their hands dirty and experimented with new painting styles. The festival promises to get bigger and better next year.
