With the Tiger’s celebrating the 10th anniversary of the 2007 premiership win over of all teams Kiama, an undermanned Bomaderry were unable to contain the Power, who are fast developing into a very strong combination.
Kiama came out firing kicking five goals three to nil in the first quarter and while the Tigers took it up to them for most of the second and third term, injuries and fatigue in the heavy conditions got the better of them, with Kiama running away with game in the final quarter to register a huge win.
Final score: Bomaderry 4.3-27 to Kiama 18.8-116
Goalkickers: Andrew Ellis (two), Andrew Lee and Ben Girling one each.
Award winners: Tim Hanlon (Crofty’s Tyre and Auto and ‘Deli on Kinghorne’ vouchers), Andrew Lee (Bridge Tavern voucher), Jeremy O’Byrne (Kel Campbell Caltex fuel card), Courtney Ward (Tuscany Wood Fired Top Tackle award), Corey Warrington (Mamma’s Italian Kitchen award), Nick McDonald (Scruples Hairstyles voucher) and Tyson Sue (Dunn and Williams coaches cup).
In another lop-sided game that doesn’t really reflect the effort put in by everyone, Bomaderry’s reserve grade were again outclassed by Kiama who were simply too strong all over the park. With the u17s having the bye, it presented an opportunity for Siwa Harvey-Aziz and Aiden Sanders to have their first taste of senior football with both players proving more than handy. Jack Carter (another u17s player) was equally impressive winning plenty of ball.
Final score: Bomaderry 1.0-6 to Kiama 20.14-134
Goalkickers: Dean Havlin one
Award winners: Siwa Harvey-Aziz (Crofty’s Tyre and Auto player’s player award), Dean Havlin (Bridge Tavern voucher), Matthew Cooney (Tuscany Wood Fired Top Tackle award), Nick Dowling (Mamma’s Italian Kitchen award), Dale Lovatt (Scruples Hairstyles voucher) and Les Wardale (Dunn and Williams coaches cup).
This weekend, the Tigers take on Northern Districts at Hollymount Park in what should be a fairly close and hotly contested game.
Last Saturday’s Black and Gold Ball was another huge success – with special thanks to Courtney, Petals, Sally, Dukesy, Cam and Julieanne and to everyone that attended.
