The school will be hosting an open day on Friday, September 15 and a spring fair on Sunday, September 17 to celebrate the milestone.
The weekend will be packed with memories, family fun and a chance for former students, teachers and school community members to reunite.
Everyone is invited to join in the festivities.
There will be a petting zoo, chocolate wheel, vintage cars, unlimited carnival rides, live entertainment and face painting. No-one will go home hungry, with a range of international food stalls set to keep everyone satisfied.
The celebrations will run from 10am-2pm. Spring fair rides can be bought for $30 before September 8 at Bomaderry Public. More information at 4421 6577.
Assistant principal Jenny Arnott is a familiar face at the school, having been a student there herself.
After completing her teacher training, Ms Arnott undertook prac at the school – and returned the very next day as a casual teacher.
That was seven years ago and Ms Arnott said she has no plans to ever leave Bomaderry Public.
“It’s such a supportive school and there’s so many opportunities so I hope I’ll be here until I retire,” she said.
As with all sisters, Ms Arnott took the opportunity to recall an amusing incident from her brother’s time at Bomaderry Public School.
“He took my mum’s engagement ring and proposed to a girl on the cricket pitch when he was in year six,” she laughed.
“He got into big trouble.”
Ben Green is another former student, turned teacher.
The 26-year-old has been teaching at the school for the past four years and said he’s enjoyed reuniting with his own past teachers – although it’s brought its own challenges.
“The first time I ran into Mrs Paige, who was my kindy teacher, I just didn’t know what to call her. I just felt really strange using her first name,” he said.
“The first time I walked into the school as a teacher, not a student was a weird feeling but teaching is always something I wanted to do and Bomaderry is such a great school to work at.”
Current school captains Violet Venn and Jordan Pham shared their favourite school activities.
“I really like all the interest groups we have and I’m involved in quite a few,” she said.
“I want to be either an electrician or a designer who makes and sells wedding dresses and a wedding planner when I grow up.”
All past students, teachers, relatives, neighbours and family and friends are encouraged to head along to celebrate the school later this year.
