After a 44-point demolition over Port Kembla last weekend, Shellharbour would put on another attacking master class as they have now posted a whopping 116 points in just two matches.
It proved to be another tough day at the office for the home side -who were tough and gutsy in the opening exchanges of the game but on the day couldn’t match the speed and tenacity of a heavily experienced Sharks side.
On the back of a penalty, Shellharbour clicked into gear through Abraham Atallah who posted the first of many tries from close range for the away side.
Matt Carroll added the extra two points as the Sharks led 6-nil.
Berry showed some muscle in defence and forced many handling errors in the first period, but couldn’t capitalise when given decent opportunities in opposition territory.
Matt Carroll assisted Ryan McCracken and Ian Catania for their respective four pointers and Sharks’ fullback Jason Gray bolted 60 metres down the western touchline for his effort.
Carroll slotted two goals as Shellharbour led 22-nil.
Magpies’ front-rower Luke Ryder came up with an amazing try saving effort in his own territory, which allowed for a much needed Josh Ingold try and at half-time Berry trailed by 18.
The home side didn’t have much luck in the second half – Harry Orford and Luke Duffell both received injuries and were reduced to a two man bench.
The visitors turned it up a notch in the second half as they scored 34 unanswered points.
A hard running Dylan McGregor posted an excellent hat-trick.
Speedsters Ian Catania and Brendan Kelly came up with brilliant individual efforts from inside their own half and Aaron McLachlan crashed over from dummy half.
Matt Carroll was excellent with the boot as he slotted five goals from six attempts.
The second Magpies try for the fixture came from Josh Coulter, who pounced on perfectly waited chip kick from Josh Ingold.
Coulter converted his try which secured the fulltime score line 56-10 to Shellharbour.
Ryan McCracken, Dylan McGregor, Aaron McLachlan, Ian Catania and Matt Carroll were excellent for Shellharbour while Josh Coulter, Josh Ingold, Luke Ryder and Blake Dryden stood tall on a difficult day for Berry-Shoalhaven Heads.
