Bragging rights were up for grabs and Berry Black got the job done 9-1.
Not the scoreline either team were expecting.
In the men’s Burrawang derby The Yowies got up 2-1 over the Bunyips.
All told, was still a good trip back across the mountain for both teams.
Saturday got underway under clear skies, as the rain held off.
First up was Burrawang vs Shoalhaven Heads with Burrawang getting the win 4-2.
In the last women’s game of the day, Allsorts Orange and Basin put it all on the line, with Allsorts needing nearly the full 70 minutes to get the winner in the last minute to get the win 1-0.
In the men’s games, Berry Black were up against a full strength Basin team, and both clubs played good hard hockey, Basin taking a well deserved lead into half time 2-1.
Both teams tried hard to get the upper hand in the second term; Berry managed to equalise and that’s how it stayed.
Could have gone either way, and was a great game of hockey played in the right spirit.
The last men’s game of the day saw the Heads Pirates looking at 5 wins in a row, a club record.
Berry White whilst trying hard couldn’t stop the Heads momentum, with Heads getting up 5-0 in a good game.
Berry White were unlucky not to get on the board after having all the play in the second half.
