Peter said there are many types of investments available to all investors and it is important to seek advice to get the best returns for the individual.
Many retirees who do not have enough wealth to be independent are able to supplement their income with a part pension, but it is important to preserve capital, and this is where competent financial advice is essential
The type of investment chosen depends to a large extent on the risk profile of the individual. Low risk investments like cash are more secure but have lower returns than the more aggressive options like shares and property and recommendations are based on the goals, needs and risk profile of the investor.
Peter responded to many questions from members and was thanked for his presentation by president Bill Medaris.
AIR is an organisation that represents the interests of retirees who are fully or partly self funded in retirement. These can include part pensioners, people with superannuation income or fully self funded retirees. Air meets on the second Tuesday of the month, (except January), at the Bomaderry Bowling Club at 10am.
There is always a guest speaker at the meetings and visitors and new members are always welcome.
The next meeting is on Tuesday, June 13. For further information contact secretary Peter Moate on 4448 7788 or president Bill Medaris on 4443 0189.
