The club blew out 95 candles on Wednesday, May 17, surrounded by balloons, lunch, stories from years gone by, and a delicious cake.
The club was founded on May 17, 1922 and started with 22 members.
With more than 70 members now on the books, the club hosts two tournaments a year and meets every day. With so many keen players, the club also hosts two sessions a day.
President Wendy Wade has been a member for seven years. She said it’s friendship and a love of the game that keeps her coming back.
“It’s a wonderful, happy club,” she said.
“Everyone is very friendly and welcoming.”
While everyone has their strengths, the club is home to David Hambidge, the second highest ranked male golf croquet player in the state.
The club moved from to its current location next to the swimming pool in Bomaderry. Anyone interested in joining the club is encouraged to contact Wendy on 4421 5315.
