THE Werri Beach Boardriders have finished equal seventh in the men’s division at the weekend’s 2017 Sailor Jerry Surftag Australian Championships at North Narrabeen Beach, Sydney.

They finished behind eventual winners Central Coast’s North Shelly Boardriders, while the women’s division was taken out by D’Bah Boardriders – making them back-to-back champions.

"It's always fun competing in the original tag team for Werri - the boys all surfed well and we had a good time," Werri Beach Boardrider Dean Bowen said.

"Tully Robinson was one of the standout surfers of the event and it feels like Werri is on the rise again."
