Watson, who scored 19.27 in a heat, won the two-day event, which pitted 32 of the top surfers against each other at Culburra’s Warrain Beach.
“The weekend was amazing and it’s a credit to all the boys that put in the hard work prior to it,” Jordin Watson said.
“Good conditions made it fun for all that competed and I was lucky enough to come out on top.
“The last two times I’ve come up against Ty he’s beaten me, so it was good to get one up on him.”
Reiss Hunt (Cronulla) and Ricki Tucker (Culburra) finished in equal third place, while Gazlin Hamzah (Indonesia), Ben Buckpitt, Beau Buckpitt and Marc Williams all finished equal fifth respectively. Ben Warne took out the Kinghorn Motor Group air show – winning $1,000, while pocketed $250 for second.
