THE Nowra-Bomaderry Jets secured their maiden victory for the 2017 season, thanks to a terrific 48-16 victory over the Albion Park-Oak Flats Eagles at Centenary Field on Saturday.

The Jets were a more determined and disciplined outfit, as they showed off their enterprising and exciting style of rugby league in front of a massive crowd at Centenary Field.
The home side tried their hardest and were highly competitive throughout the game but failed to produce points when they needed it the most.
The Jets got off to a perfect start as Zac Blattner assisted Steve Brandon with a perfect cut out ball as he scored the first of many tries for the afternoon.
The Jets led 4–nil.
Despite losing Blake Jones and Ben Scurr to injuries inside the first five minutes, the home side fought back immediately.
Jack Scurr muscled his way across the white chalk as Scott Merrick converted the try and the Eagles led by two.
On the back of a penalty, Jets second rower Ryan James received a perfect inside ball from Steve Brandon to give his side a 10-6 lead.
Albion Park applied much needed pressure on Nowra’s defence as Callum Azzopardi crossed over on the back of a nice left side attacking play.
The scores were locked at 10-all.
Nowra-Bomaderry dominated possession and gained three more tries before the break.
Tyson Simpson, who received a pin point accurate cross field kick from Zac Blattner, Kieran Brandon out wide and Steve Brandon with an amazing 70 metre solo effort.
Mark Brandon slotted two goals as the Jets led 26-10 at the break.
Fatigue started to creep into the 15 man Eagles side as the Jets continued to put the foot down.
Zac Blattner scored on the back of his own 40/20, Steve Brandon completed his hat-trick, Dwayne Connors bolted 50 metres down the eastern touchline and Tyson Simpson secured his double.
Mark Brandon kicked three more goals for the visitors.
Jiye Ellis impressed off the bench for the Eagles as he posted the only second half try for the home side.
Aaron Merrick added the extra two points.
At full-time the Jets finished the afternoon on top with a 48-16 victory.
Steve Brandon, Zac Blattner, Ryan James, Zac Kershaw and Tyson Simpson were excellent for the Jets while Josh Sainsbury, Jack Scurr, Jiye Ellis and Aaron Merrick did all they could for the Eagles.
