Andrew Hinkley, 43, pleaded not guilty in Nowra Local Court to the charge which stemmed from an incident in the Nowra CBD on January 6.
Around 11.30am police responded to reports of two men and two women acting suspiciously in Junction Street, Nowra, with suggestions an alleged drug transaction had taken place.
The group denied any “transaction” had taken place and Hinkley became abusive towards the officers and swearing.
Court papers said he even threatened police, saying, “It’s you and me now c..t. It’s you at me. Wait till you get your gun off” to one officer and “You’re only tough coz you’ve got a gun. You wait till you get it off.”
While searching Hinkley, officers found he was wearing a pair of pants over shorts and underwear. He allegedly asked officers if they wanted him “to f...ing strip?”
When told it was not necessary and he was in a public place Hinkley allegedly pulled down his clothing and stood up exposing his bare buttocks and genitals to the public.
Police said at the time there was heavy pedestrian traffic in the area including children and elderly people.
Magistrate Gabriel Fleming fined Hinkley $750 on the wilful and obscene exposure charge.
Hinkley had previously pleaded guilty to two charges of intimidating police and using offensive language and had been jailed for seven months with a non-parole period of two months.
