AN outstanding second half performance from the Shellharbour City Sharks paved the way for a solid 28-16 victory over the Nowra-Bomaderry Jets at Ron Costello Oval on Sunday.

In a fiery and hard fought encounter, Shellharbour were tested in the first half by a very determined and gutsy Jets side.
The Sharks showed much improved execution in attack and tough defence in the second period which enabled them to secure back to back victories.
The Sharks got the scoreboard ticking, as Shellharbour centre Wayde Aitken crossed over on the western touchline to give his side an early 4-nil lead.
The Jets were excellent in the first half as they generated plenty of opportunities through their expansive and exciting style of football.
Kurt Quinlan posted a double for the visitors and on both occasions, he was assisted by terrific individual attacking performances from Mark Brandon and Nathan Falzon.
Mark Brandon slotted two goals and at the break Nowra-Bomaderry led 12-4.
Shellharbour came out firing in the second period as Ryan McCracken got his side back into the contest with a converted try of his own.
The Sharks trailed by two.
The Jets couldn’t make most of their opportunities when given as the home side posted three more tries to seal the deal.
Brock Skelly assisted Craig Stapleton and Dylan McGregor from close range and Ian Cantania received a pin point accurate cross field kick from veteran winger Jaime Manukonga.
Matt Carroll slotted two goals as the Sharks led 28-12.
Both sides were forced to play with 12 men for the last 10 minutes of the game – as Craig Stapleton from the Sharks and Kieran Brandon for the Jets were both sin binned.
The away side had final say for the fiery battle, as Dwayne Connors showed off his speed and athleticism with an amazing 70 metre individual effort which secured the full time score of 28-16.
Brock Skelly, Dylan McGregor, Matt Carroll, Ryan McCracken and Brad Chapman were the standouts for the Sharks while Nathan Falzon, Mark and Steve Brandon, Zac Kershaw, Ryan James fought hard for the Jets.
