A DOMINANT second half performance from the Warilla-Lake South Gorillas has helped them gain a solid 22-12 victory over the Berry-Shoalhaven Heads Magpies at Cec Glenhomes Oval on Sunday.

In their first home game for 2017, Warilla impressed their home faithful through a well controlled and conservative performance in facets of the game.
A much improved Berry-Shoalhaven Heads side were highly competitive throughout the match, especially in the first half, where they forced opposition mistakes and generated plenty of opportunities in attack.
Costly handling errors and ill discipline didn’t offer any assistance to their second half performance.
A brilliant individual converted effort from Josh Ingold allowed the Magpies to get off to a perfect start, as they gained an early 6-nil lead.
Warilla hit back in fine style, as Aaron Henry muscled over from close range.
The Saltana brothers, Emmanuel and Aaron combined for an amazing cross field converted effort which gave the Gorillas a 10-4 lead.
The Magpies stamped their authority as workhorse lock forward Jack Parrish posted a vital four pointer for his side.
Josh Coulter converted the try as Berry led 12-10 at the break.
Early in the second period, Emmanuel Saltana slotted a crucial penalty conversion from right in front of the sticks which allowed the scores to be tied a 12-all.
Both sides were denied a try each from close range as the battle became intense and fiery.
Warilla and Berry were reduced to 12 men, as Caleb Liddicoat from Berry and Jake Davidson from Warilla were both sent to the sin binned by referee Nick Mclnerney.
The Gorillas broke the deadlock, as interchange forward Kyle Stone posted converted try out wide, and Aaron Henry secured his double as the home side ran out winners by 22-12.
Aaron Henry, Emmanuel and Aaron Sultana, James Collins and Nick King were the standouts for Warilla while Jack Parrish, Joe Rogers, Dylan Buchanan, Josh Ingold and Josh Coulter gave it their best for Berry-Shoalhaven Heads.
