Students produced artworks for their inaugural school exhibition and invited the community to join them in the celebration of art.
“All the classes in the school kindergarten through to year six including the support classes have produced beautiful artworks ranging from paintings and sculpting to photography,” Sanctuary Point Public School teacher Nicole Garin said.
“This is our first year, we’ve decided this is going to be a regular event and next year we are already planning for bigger and better.”
The exhibition was officially launched by Huskisson artist Tracy Verdugo.
“I think the arts are important in the community, especially in schools,” Mrs Verdugo said.
“Art tends to give us a way to tell our stories, to be inspired by other peoples stories, to ask questions, to be more curious about the world and I think it helps us to be more well rounded human being as well.”
