More than 60 teams with their vehicles will gather in the lead-up to the 8am launch of the 2017 Beyond Bitumen Tour.
The Nowra team of Noel Kennedy, Al Spencer and Miles Leach has raised more than $4000 for the national event.
In Mr Kennedy’s 1971 351 Ford GT replica, the team will travel on mostly dirt roads and back roads to Bermagui, Bega Valley, Cooma, Canberra and finishing in the Southern Highlands.
The four-day tour supports Beyond Blue.
We’ve decided to do this in memory of our mate Tony (Toss) Aulesbrooke who lost his battle with depression at Christmas time.
“I believe the total raised by this year’s tour is at about $150,000,” Mr Kennedy said.
“We’re looking forward to this trip. I’ve rebuilt the GT four times since I’ve had it , after doing various other fundraising adventures in it over the years,” he said.
