But that looks set to come to end this season due to a mass exodus from the club’s first grade set up.
“We have lost five of our regular first graders from last season – Matt Fuz, Alex Kaine, Jamie Young, Billy Wallington and Jordan Haddow,” Skingle said.
“With no third grade side this season, everyone has been pushed up a grade and we have a number of reserve graders making the step-up into the top grade this season.
“This hasn’t fazed the lads, because to their credit, they wanted the challenge of playing first grade.
“The main thing for the lads this year is to turn up and give their all each week – you can’t ask for much more than that.”
United host Milton in round one this Saturday at Lyrebird Park from 3.15pm.
