The Shoalhaven Nowra Relay For Life went ahead despite the rainy weather with hundreds of people hitting the pavement to raise vital funds for the Cancer Council’s research, prevention, information and support services.

Relay is a chance for the Nowra community to recognise and celebrate local cancer survivors, patients and their carers, to honour and remember loved ones lost to cancer and to raise money to help save more lives.
Through the funds raised at Relay For Life, over 61,000 Australian lives have been saved over the last 20 years, this year the event raised $115,940.
The top fundraising teams were The Rock Red Hot Pokers with $13,136, followed by the Classy Clown's with $8,250, Crazee Wacky Walkers with $5,051, St John The Evangelist Catholic High School with $4,927 and HMAS Creswell with $4,904.
The top individuals to raise funds were Samantha McConnell with $2,287, followed by Michele Owen with $1,354, Brett Bertie with $1,160, Kerrie Mackey with $1,158 and Lauren Fleming with $1,021.
