The latest community information into the possible contaminant of HMAS Albatross and the surrounding area by the historic use of firefighting foams will be made available at a community walk-in session tomorrow, Tuesday, April 11 at the Nowra Hill Public School.
The Department of Defence is holding the walk-in session from 3.30pm to 6.30pm to provide local residents and business owners with an update on the environmental investigation into per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substancs (PFAS) on and in the vicinity of Albatross.
The session will provide residents and business owners the opportunity to gather information on the progress of environmental investigations and ask questions one-on-one with defence and other key government representatives who will be in attendance such as the Department of Defence, NSW Government departments and agencies.
In March defence revealed initial testing for possible contaminated areas around the Jervis Bay Range Facility and HMAS Creswell had only found one reading above recommended levels.
You can RSVP to attend the session on 1800 856 491 or HMAS.Albatross@aurecongroup.com by Monday, April 10.
Light refreshments will be provided.
