A former Shoalhaven man who allegedly held up a pizza delivery driver with a knife at North Nowra in December 2015 and was involved in a number of other thefts in the Nowra area has been refused bail.

Jean David Davaine, 26, now of Brisbane, appeared in Nowra Local Court facing a variety of charges including robbery armed with an offensive weapon, dishonestly obtain financial advantage by deception, having goods suspected of being stolen and larceny.
Police allege between 6.15pm and 7pm on January 29, 2015, Davaine robbed a Pizza Hut delivery driver while armed with a brown, wooden handled knife.
As well as allegedly making off with a Samsung mobile phone, a Quiksilver wallet containing various cards, $65 in cash, a Pizza Hut bumbag which contained $40, he also helped himself to a large garlic and prawn pizza, a 1.25l bottle of solo, a garlic bread and six mini Magnum ice creams.
Police allege Davaine then used one of the cards stolen from the driver the next day, withdrawing $550 cash at the Bomaderry Hotel.
Police also alleged on November 17, 2015 he was found at a Pitt Street address with a men’s racing pushbike, a mountain bike, various electrical tools including a power sander, a HP printer, a set of jumper leads, golf clubs and bag, a spear gun and spear and six fishing rods.
He is also charged with allegedly stealing a $2000 men’s road racing bike at Terara and items from a Millbank Road property on the same date.
Bail was not applied for and was formally refused. Davaine will be back in court on May 2.
