The man did not make any pleas when he appeared before Nowra registrar Craig Cockburn on Friday.
The charges allegedly stem from incidents between March 2013 and June 2015 in the Shoalhaven.
It is alleged the man indecently assaulted a girl when she was aged nine and 11.
The man was charged by officers from the Child Abuse Squad from Wollongong on March 16.
He has been granted bail but must comply to a strict apprehended violence order.
The matter will be back in court on April 7.
