The new helmets were presented to the junior and senior presidents of Shoalhaven Cricket Brett Mark and Criag Howsan by Darian Hall, owner/operator of the South Nowra and Bomaderry McDonalds restaurants recently.
“McDonalds had been a long-time supporter of grass roots sports, and hoped that this donation would help out the local clubs and players,” Hall said.
Howsan echoed those comments saying that, “in a few years, it will be compulsory for all batsmen to wear the new standard of helmets, regardless of age and ability”.
Mark explained how each of Shoalhaven’s junior clubs would receive two helmets each and that the change in the new standard of helmets offer greater protection for cricketers of all ages.
