The travel blogger grew up in Culburra and now lives between the Maldives and the Shoalhaven.
While she’s travelled most of the world reviewing luxury properties and surfing exotic locations, Kristie is set to feature closer to home.
After spending the recent summer holidays chasing waterfalls around the Shoalhaven with her friend and former St Georges Basin resident Emma Shute, Kristie received a message from the USA Travel Channel.
The television station was about to embark on a three week trip to Australia to film 11 locations for two shows, ‘Top Secret Swimming Holes’ and ‘Top Secret Beaches’ and asked Kristie and Emma to show them the treasures of the Shoalhaven.
“It’s not every day that you get an opportunity to be featured on international television,” Kristie said.
“I was a little nervous at first as I’ve not previously done any television work. The experience was so great and filing with Emma and my other friends was so much fun.
“The crew made us feel totally comfortable, we had so many laughs along the way and by the end of the three days, I’m pretty sure I’ve made some new friends for life.”
The crew filmed from Thursday, March 9 to Saturday, March 11 and featured Belmore Falls near Robertson and Greenfield Beach in Jervis Bay.

With Greenfield Beach turning on the summer charm, Kristie said the day was spent swimming, sunbaking, rock hopping, playing on the sand and walking the coastal trail.
A few three foot waves provided the perfect opportunity for some surfing shots and drone footage captured Kristie taking on the waves.
It wasn’t all sunshine and smooth sailing for the team however, with the recent rain making Belmore Falls a little tricky to navigate.
‘The trek in was very muddy and slippery, even a little dangerous in places. We couldn’t even really even swim – and the show was supposed to be all about swimming,” Kristie said.
“I braved the cold and swam a little but the power of the falls made it too difficult to get anywhere near the waterfall.”
The shoot was rescheduled and the team returned two days later with more success.
“I’ve travelled all over the world as a blogger over the past three years and have been blessed to see some really incredible places, but showing the world the wonders that we have here on our doorstep in the Shoalhaven is just a dream.

“We braved the freezing water, floated under the powerful falls on colourful inflatables, did some rock jumps and had an absolute blast – It’s one of the best days I’ve ever had in Australia. It made me feel like a kid once again,” Kristie said.

“What I love the most about the Shoalhaven is that you can have some amazing adventures here at home and sometimes not even pass another soul. It’s a great destination to take time out to switch off from the real world, escape into nature, rejuvenate and feel more alive.”
The Shoalhaven will feature on the USA Travel Channel later this year.
