After winning the toss, the Blues batted first at the Lilac Hill, Western Australia, posting 164. Nowra’s Maddinson second top-scored with a crafty 38 from 41 balls, with Arjun Nair the high man with 42 not out.
Centuries from Western Australia trio Jake Carde, Nic Hobson and Clinton Hinchcliffe guided the hosts to an impressive 483, therefore sealing first innings points.
In their second innings, NSW fared marginally better, reaching 250, handing the hosts an outright win. Pick of the bowlers for the hosts were Matthew Kelly and Josh Nicholas, who ended the match with five and four wickets respectively.
On the back of this strong showing, Maddinson has been named in the Blues squad for their Sheffield Shield clash against Tasmania at North Dalton Park, starting on Saturday.
