The matches that went ahead on Saturday were a mixture of one and two day matches with many strong efforts recorded on the day.
Modified under 11s
WHEN two even modified under 11s sides took to Drexel Park on Saturday you could sense a close match was about to be played.
Great rivals North Nowra Cambewarra and Bomaderry were in a process of playing a great and high quality match on the weekend.
Unfortunately, when things were getting tense and interesting, rain marred the contest.
North Nowra were 9/99 for a net result of 81 while at the same stage Bomaderry were 8/104 for a net result of 88 when the match, due to safety reasons, was abandoned.
Jackson Ingram 36, Riley Ingram 20, Jeb Brownhill 11, Jack Woods nine and Talea Miller eight led the way with the bat for Bomaderry.
Leading bowlers for Norths were Adam Sweet 2/17, Emily Zerafa 1/10, Toni Anning 1/30, Tom Duncan 0/9 and Stone Ricketts 0/9 charged in strongly.
With the bat Tom Duncan 19, Cooper Lukes 12, Emily 11, Toni Anning eight and Kyle Bogan six all produced stylish knocks.
Jack Woods 2/7, Jackson Ingram 1/1, Rhiley Thurston1/6 , Elijah Guyatt 1/6 and Riley Ingram 1/8 were all on target with the ball for Bomaderry.
In other modified matches Berry Shoalhaven Heads Black 10/152 defeated Shoalhaven Ex-Servicemens Gold 9/98 and Bay and Basin Red 9/88 was too strong for Berry Shoalhaven Heads White 14/67.
The other modified matches were abandoned due to the wet conditions.
Under 12s
NORTH Nowra Cambewarra Maroons, after a good effort with bat and ball, looks to be in a match winning position against Nowra White in their under 12s match.
The Whites, on Saturday at the Added Area, struggled with the bat and could only make 56 runs and the Maroons at stumps had already put 30 runs on the scoreboard.
Cohan Langlo with 15 runs was the only player for the Whites to get into double figures.
Riley O'Carroll was the chief destroyer for Norths and he took three wickets.
Norths is quickly eating into the opposition’s total, led by Lucas Zerafa 20, with a six and a four, and the match continues on Saturday.
North Nowra Cambewarra Blues v Ulladulla United
Ulladulla United, discounting a massive collapse, will get the first innings points against Nowra Nowra Cambewarra Blues when their two day match at Bernie Regan Oval continues.
The Blues were bundled out for just 39 runs and United at stumps was 0/26 and in charge.
Leading bowlers for United were Bryce Smith three wickets, Ryan Gilkes two and Isaac King also with two.
United may look to record and outright win when the match continues on Saturday.
Nowra Green v Berry-Shoalhaven Heads
Nowra Green’s 51 runs may not be enough to prevent them from being beaten by Berry Shoalhaven Heads when their match at Zealand Oval continues on Saturday.
Berry has many good batsmen in its team and 51 runs may be an easy total for them to chase.
Alec Dobson three wickets and Cooper Bramley two wickets led the charge with the ball for Berry.
Shoalhaven Ex-Servicemen’s v Batemans Bay
Everything looks like it went to plan for the Batemans Bay players when they travelled up to play Shoalhaven Ex-Servicemens at Lyrebird Number One.
The Bay won the toss, elected to bat first and put on a commanding 2/172 runs.
Luke Gallen 37 with five boundaries, Bailey Brady 35 with three boundaries, Lachlan Malcolm 26 with two boundaries and Mark Tuckwell 25 also with two boundaries had the ball going to all parts of the ground for the Bay.
No bowling details for the Whites were available.
Under 14s
SHOALHAVEN Ex-Servicemens/Nowra has belted its way to a commanding position in an under 14s match against Berry Shoalhaven Heads on Saturday at Zealand Oval Two.
Ex-Servos/Nowra batted first and put on an impressive 5/242 which Berry will start chasing on Saturday when day two gets underway.
Half centuries from Joey Ellery and Luke Jones helped Ex-Servos/Nowra reach its commanding position.
Joey hit seven boundaries and a six in his innings, while Luke reach the boundary twice and cleared it three times.
Sam Parkinson 35 with four boundaries and Baden Manwaring 15 with three boundaries all contributed to Ex-Servos/Nowra’s impressive total.
No bowling details from Berry were available.
North Nowra Cambewarra Maroons v Ulladulla United Golds
A sparkling half century from Hyeon Parsons has North Nowra Cambewarra Maroons well set against Ulladulla United Golds at Ray Aboud Oval.
Hyeon’s 52 runs included three boundaries and a six and his team reached 3/170 at stumps.
David Howard-Arcus 24 with five boundaries, Toby Huard 21, and Cameron Murray 17 all contributed to the Maroons’ total.
No bowling details were supplied for the Golds and they will start their run chase on Saturday.
North Nowra Cambewarra Blues v Ulladulla United Blues
Ulladulla United Blues will be hoping its 7/83 will get it the points over North Nowra Cambewarra Blues when their two day match continues on Saturday.
The Blues last weekend at Artie Smith Oval managed 7/93 runs which would be hard to defend.
Take away Casey Dorrell’s 35 and Jay Ramsden’s 26 and things would had been gloomy for the Blues.
Lachlan Mark took two wickets for Norths and the match continues on Saturday.
Under 16s
North Nowra Cambewarra will be looking to secure first innings points when its under 16s match against Bay and Basin continues on Saturday.
The Basin, last Saturday at Bernie Regan Oval, batted first and could only reach 77 runs and Norths already has 62 runs on the scoreboard with all its wickets still intact.
Rhett Colliss 17, Justin Rumble 14 and Joshua Rickwood reached double figures for the Basin.
Will Seyffer and James Batson led the way in the wicket taking department for Norths with two scalps apiece.
Master batsman Kaleb Phillips 44 with two sixes and two boundaries has Norths in control of the situation and the match continues on Saturday.
Ulladulla United v Batemans Bay
A committed effort with the bat has Ulladulla United nicely placed after day one of its two day match against Batemans Bay at Hanging Rock Oval.
United batted first and put a respectable 159 runs on the scoreboard which the Bay will chase on Saturday.
Classy knocks from Rocky Lavalle and Dale Ramsden has United in a sound position.
Rocky top scored with 49 runs, which included three boundaries and a six, while Dale smashed two sixes and two fours during his 40 run stint at the crease.
Nathan Simmons 16 and Ryan Geerlings 12 produced handy knocks.
A five wicket haul from James Dickinson was the highlight of the Bay’s effort in the field.
The Bay will start its run chase on Saturday and all eyes will be on in form batsman and noted century maker Jack Gallen.
