A former South Coast man has been charged with allegedly breaking into a Sanctuary Point home and raping an eight-year-old girl.

Police allege the 22-year-old broke into the home on March 18 last year and while inside had sex with the young girl.
He faces charges of sexual intercourse with a child under 10 and aggravated break and enter committing a serious indictable offence.
The man also faces a separate charge of aggravated sexual assault of a victim under 16, following an incident at Sanctuary Point between March 1 and 31, 2015, during which it is alleged he had sexual intercourse with a 15-year-old.
He was refused bail by Magistrate Gabriel Fleming and will reappear on March 21.
Magistrate Fleming also fined the man $300 and ordered he pay compensation of $155.73 on the charge of destroying property after he used his head to smash a cabin window at an Ulladulla motel on April 2 last year.
