In conjunction with water sport groups, Shoalhaven City Council has been investigating the development of a water sports hub and building at Paringa Park on Scenic Drive, with the aim of creating a dynamic water sports hub.
The plan includes pontoons, ramps, access path, additional parking, lighting and a fishing platform viewing deck.
A number of non-motorised water craft user groups would benefit from a multipurpose hub such as sailing, Water Dragons, rowing and Sea Scouts, who currently access the Shoalhaven River and utilise existing areas such as Paringa Park and Riverside Park.
To coordinate site planning, a draft masterplan has been prepared to ensure Paringa Park can cater to a wide range of water craft user groups and that the area becomes a key recreational and sporting hub on the river.
The community can provide feedback on Council’s online community engagement platform at getinvolved.shoalhaven.nsw.gov.au/paringa-park until February 28, 2017.
