Watson, 26, will be joined by world-champion Tyler Wright and her brother Mikey Wright, his younger brother Jordin Watson, Jordan Dank and junior Ben Buckpitt in the squad, with Louis Gillick, Justin Colebrook, Navryn Watson and Keira Buckpitt as reserves.
The team will be out to better their third place finish in 2015, which was the club’s first time competing at this event.
“This year we are all going to have fun, roll with the punches and hopefully can one better than we have in the past and get the win,” Ty Watson said.
“We have had some close calls in recent years but we have learnt from that and have strategies in place to make sure we give ourselves the best chance of winning.
“Snapper Rocks Surfriders Club are always tough competition and have had plenty of success lately, so I think it’s time that we knocked them off.”
Last year, Surfing NSW CEO Mark Windon said the Culburra Beach Boardriders Club “has experienced exponential growth across all divisions and filled a void in the development pathway for aspiring young athletes in the region while being a shining light within the community.”
