About 9.45pm on Sunday, a 40-year-old man was at home on Karne Street with his wife and two-year-old child when he heard a smashing sound coming from the front of the house.
He got up to investigate and saw four men coming through his front door.
They were armed with bats and allegedly assaulted the occupant before running from the location.
His wife and child were not hurt.
Police were called and a crime scene was established while the occupant received treatment to two lacerations to his head.
Following investigations by Shoalhaven detectives a 41-year-old man was arrested at a home on Penguin Street, Sanctuary Point on Monday.
He was taken to Nowra Police Station and charged with aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence.
He was given conditional bail and will appear in Nowra Local Court on March 9.
A 16-year-old youth attended Huskisson Police Station on Monday in relation to the attack.
He was charged with aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence.
He was also given conditional bail and will appear in Nowra Children’s Court on March 9.
