You crave for an episode that will delve into the psyche of the criminal.
An episode that explains in an easy to understand plain English way everything that you will need to know on the subject that will make you a crime prevention guru, however this is not the episode that will do all those things, today I will delve into the magical world of traffic.
Traffic is defined in one of the dictionaries found on the Google net as: The vehicles, persons, etc moving in an area, along a street, etc.
If you look outside into your street you will see traffic. If we think about traffic we usually think about the gridlock on the Princes Hwy or other major thoroughfares, however you need to think about the back roads as well.
By back roads I mean your street where you live. You may have a stop sign at the end of your street that you have driven past 10,000 times on your way to work.
"Today I will delve into the magical world of traffic.
- Senior constable Anthony Jory
You used to stop every single time at the intersection in the early days but it has been your experience that there is no traffic early in the morning so you just slow down now when you get to the intersection to save time.
If I have just described something that you do, then I must warn you that you may at some time make a mistake by not stopping at that intersection which could have fatal consequences either.
You know how to drive and what a stop sign or a give way sign means. But there a many people that do not obey road signs.
At a stop sign you must not only stop your vehicle, but when it is safe to do so you are to proceed with safety across the intersection.
At a give way sign you are to give way. Not try and beat the oncoming car. This may be basic knowledge but I see many drivers breaking the rules and tempting fate in my travels.
It’s not only on our highways. Bad driving occurs near our homes, schools and daycare centres. There is one very simple way getting rid of the problem. Obey the road rules.
