Anyone aged between 13 and 24 from the Shoalhaven, Kiama and South Coast region is encouraged to take part in the Young Coasties Song Music Project.
The creative workshop program will be held on weekends during February to May at Beach Tracks Studio in Culburra Beach.
Young musician Jaden Spence said it’s a chance for local people to expand their talents.
“I can’t wait to see what talent and music comes out of it.

“This new project is exactly what young singers and musicians need on the South Coast as most opportunities are only available in Sydney or Melbourne and are way too expensive for most young artists,” he said.
“Having access to a free no cost local workshop program that helps us learn and develop our talent and skills across original song writing, producing songs, recording your song music and live stage performance is super cool.

The new original songs and music from the project will be recorded and available on a CD album and online as part of the Culburra Beach Festival program planned for May 12-14.
Young Coasties artists and bands will be given the opportunity to perform and showcase their songs and music live on the beach stage as part of the final day of the festival on Mother’s Day.
“The project is all about providing possibilities, opportunities and pathways to local youth who have a passion and talent for developing their own original music,” project director Alex McNeilly said.
“There is so much talent on the South Coast.
- Marcus Adamson
The program is being run thanks to the NSW Youth Opportunities Program and is specifically designed for the local young talent on the South Coast.
“There is so much talent on the South Coast, we have a great team of music industry and song writing mentors involved who are really keen to share their expertise and knowledge to help our young artists to develop their own brand, style, music and songs,” Marcus Adamson, program director said.
“What’s great is that we have set up an online mentoring forum to help the artists in the project with developing their song and music outside of the workshop sessions plus a complete recording studio space available for the program.”
Local young singers, musicians and bands are encouraged to apply now at www.youngcoasties.com.au
Places are limited and applications close Sunday, February 12.
