Crews of around 30 RFS members from Cambewarra, Huskisson, Wreck Bay, Conjola and Milton have been deployed for a 24 hour period.
“A request was made this morning to provide assistance for firefighters in a bid to not only relieve local crews but to support efforts under the severe weather conditions,” RFS Shoalhaven district officer James Morris said.
A decision will be made as to whether more crews will be deployed as conditions change.
At least one rural property has been destroyed by the fire which has reached almost 3,300 hectares in size.
