Vicki Timbs could not hide her elation after the win.
“It was fantastic, we haven’t won a broad ribbon or got that high up in the last couple of years,” she said.
“It was great to get on the champion sheet again.”
Ashley Mayo from Robertson, led the heifer for her classes and has a long standing connection with the breed.
“She has been helping me all week get her ready,” Mrs Timbs said.
“We’ve had a fabulous week.”
“The heifer is from the rose breed which goes back to the original family of South Coast breeders David and Sharon Mayo, Ashley’s parents.”
The cattle judge preferred her over other contenders for her dairy character, deep body and balance throughout.
The win was the more sweeter as Mrs Timbs bred the heifer herself.
“It’s nice to have our animals win,” she said.
“She’ll be heading to Sydney Show next and we’ll see how she goes.”
