Dick and Darren on Serendipity were off first with a one-minute handicap.
Next, 10 minutes later, were Andy and Lou on HooRoo with Tingaround (Andrew, John W, John N and Gary) in hot pursuit.
Three minutes back were Backchat (Steve, Mark, Jackie and Walter), with the usual suspects bringing up the rear - Gone Too Farr (Full house – Greg, Ronda, Chris, Dennis and Annabel), Pass the Port (Paul and Lynne), then Sussex Inlet RSL (Silver, Ken, and Jeanette) and finally Southern Cross (Greg, The Dragon and Captain Billy) last away 21 minutes after the gun.
Serendipity led the way to the first mark with the fleet chasing on the tight reach to the wing mark.
With the left hand side of the course seeming to be the best bet, some tight racing followed as the handicaps unwound.
HooRoo got a little too close to Tingaround at the the top mark second time round and, having no right of way, had to do an emergency tack.
Meanwhile Gone Too Farr and Sussex Inlet RSL kept working their way through the fleet, picking some good wind shifts and fighting it out all the way to the line with Gone Too Farr just beating Sussex Inlet RSL over the line, with the Backchat crew having a good race to finish 3rd.
Outside 4 PBH Results: 1st Gone Too Farr, 2nd Sussex Inlet RSL, 3rd Backchat, 4th HooRoo, 5th Southern Cross, 6th Tingaround, 7th Serendipity, 8th Pass the Port.
