The first Tomerong Food Fair kicked off on Friday, January 13 at the Tomerong School of Arts Hall.
Peter Alison, president of the Tomerong Forum and the Tomerong School of Arts Committee said the event aimed to involve the whole community and those visiting the region.
“Initially the fire brigade said they’d like to reconnect with the locals and we thought it would be great to do something to get both the locals and the holidaymakers in to promote Tomerong,” he said.
Donations were accepted and all funds will go towards the upkeep of two valuable community treasures.
“We’re unique here in Tomerong in that both the church and the Tomerong Hall are owned and run by the community,” Mr Alison said.
The event was held from 4.30pm and continued into the night with plenty of live entertainment.
