“I’ve been a part of the team for two of this squad’s incredible nine victories however the culture has been the same all all of them - with the more experienced players telling stories of the previous wins to ensure everyone knew what was expected and what it means to play for the NSW men’s indoor team,” Mackay said.
The Shoalhaven-product now week flies out to Europe with the Australian Men’s Indoor Hockey team for a two-and-a-half week tour.
“The aim of the tour is to receive International experience in the hopes of being selected in the 2018 World Cup team next year,” he said.
“We will be playing against teams from Belgium, The Netherlands and Germany.
“I’m lucky enough to learn from some of the best players in Australia but to learn from others around the world is something that I’m looking forward to.”
