"It's all the discarded life jackets, a good probably 99 per cent of those life jackets would not even save your life," Geraghty says. "Most of them are fake, or you know counterfeit. And to me it looked like a part of the landscape."

Geraghty used the low-light of dawn and the surrounding landscape to compose the photo, and show the significance of the refugee and humanitarian crisis.
