For almost two decades, Canadian singer Bruce has been playing to packed houses throughout the U.S, Canada, Europe, New Zealand, Australia and Asia with his passionate salute to music legend, Neil Diamond.
The purity of Bobby Bruce's voice has put him in a league of his own and audiences have loved the way he glides through a powerful package of Neil Diamond hits - from Cracklin' Rosie and Kentucky Woman to Cherry Cherry and Sweet Caroline, Holly Holy, Solitary Man and Song Sung Blue.
Bruce’s will be supported by former Australian Idol contestant Ashleigh Toole.
“The audience can expect all the great music from Neil Diamond and Ashleigh Toole performing as Barbara Streisand, she does a terrific job she has a beautiful voice,” Bruce said.
“I’m really looking forward to playing the venue for the first time.”
Bruce, who grew up outside of Vancouver, began performing Neil Diamond classics almost by chance.
“An Australian themed restaurant opened in the town where I grew up and when I was little I impersonated Sweet Caroline and people who heard it said do Neil, it was a party trick for a while then it became a full-time job for twenty years,” he said.
“It’s my claim to fame and it’s taken me all over the world.”
With his solitary band and live strings, Bruce doesn't miss a beat throughout his feast of the world's best loved music.
“The string section has a cello, viola and first and second violin,” Bruce said.
“It really brings out the emotion in the songs, the hairs on your arms stands up, it shows the power of the music.
“The level of musicianship is incredible and I feel very fortunate to front them.”
Since Bruce began performing, his favourite Neil Diamond song has been the 1969 classic Holly holy.
“There’s something about that song, it starts small and builds to such an incredible dynamic, it’s a roller coaster of a song and you watch the audience, they close their eyes and sway with the music and the memories come flooding back to them,” he said.
“The beautiful noise tour has songs from album which is a song I grew up on, If you know what I mean, Lady Oh.”
Unique performer Toole, takes off the soaring vocal brilliance of the legendary Barbra Streisand with songs such as The Way We Were, Woman In Love and Somewhere.
The live strings section highlights the emotion of Toole's voice in her classical rendition of Evergreen and together Toole and Bruce will delight you with their unforgettable duet You Don't Bring Me Flowers.
