Police will allege at approximately 10pm on Tuesday night the 53-year-old man demanded entry to a closed retail store on the Princes Highway where a man and two women were working.
The owner of the store, a 35-year-old man, refused the man entry and it is alleged the store owner was then punched and had a gun pointed at him.
He told police the trigger was pulled but the gun did not fire.
The two men became involved in a fight and the 35-year-old man was able to gain control of the gun.
Police from Shoalhaven Local Area Command attended the scene, commenced an investigation and recovered the loaded revolver.
Following inquiries, police attended a home on Curtis Street, Ulladulla and arrested the 53-year-old man at approximately 1:15pm yesterday (Wednesday, January 4).
During the arrest the man suffered a seizure and was taken to Milton Ulladulla Hospital in a stable condition, under police guard and was later released.
He was taken to Ulladulla Police Station where he was charged with attempt to discharge loaded arms at person with intent to murder, possess loaded firearm in public place, possess unregistered firearm in public place and possess unauthorised firearm.
The man was refused bail to appear at Nowra Local Court today (Thursday, January 5).
