Held at the Shoalhaven Ex-Servicemen’s Sports Club,  Worrigee Links the event raised money for The Shack at Terara, SSPAN Shoalhaven Suicide Prevention Awareness Network and SAHSSI  Women’s Homeless and Domestic Violence Services.

Sponsor and chamber chairman Brendan Goddard was delighted with the success of the event.

“We had 26 teams which was fewer than last year but we raised more money,” he said.

“Each organisation will get $3400 towards their cause.”

He also praised the Shoalhaven Ex-Servicemen’s Club for its support.

“The club couldn’t have been more helpful, which was fantastic,” he said.

“They allowed us to do things to raise more money. They are really community oriented.”

The Shack at Terara, is a joint initiative with Southern Cross Community Housing and Essential Employment and Training, which was launched in 2015.

The project is similar to a men’s shed project, instead for disadvantaged youth.

The brainchild of Brett Steele and Garry Field, the project came to fruition as a result of the Shark Tank, with local businesses, Strongbuild, Shoalhaven Garage Doors and Real Aussie Sheds, backing the concept, paying the rent for premises for a year.
