Club Jervis Bay will host a relaunch party on Sunday, December 4 to celebrate its brand new look. At noon, there will be children’s amusement rides in Voyager Park, a sausage sizzle, lollies and a visit from Santa.
Children are entitled to unlimited amusement rides, which are free for members’ children. Tickets are available at reception.
In the afternoon back in club there will be roving entertainers, including a magician and some face painters. There will be a members’ sausage sizzle in the afternoon and the first of the club’s mega ham raffle draws.
“We are raffling 48 half hams and two full hams over a three week period on December 4, 11, 18,” club operations manager Rita Muscat said. “We also have the third and final draw of our Renovation Sensation members’ promotion. Twenty-five lucky winners will walk away with some fantastic prizes.
“In addition to that, we are drawing two ‘Christmas Cheer’ members’ draws, for $750 worth of meat cards each.”

Club operations manager Rita Muscat is the first to admit the popular venue was in need of a makeover. “It was well overdue,” she said. “The club has been here 60 years and it was looking pretty tired and in need of a good face lift. The most important aspect of our club, our water view, wasn’t being used to its fullest potential.”
The club now has a brand new alfresco dining terrace, perfect for taking advantage of the vista, and the internal structure has been entirely refreshed.
Starting in June this year, the renovations were completed by October and have been met with positive feedback. “From comments I overhear when people come in who haven’t been in a while – they are completely overwhelmed at how the club looks,” Rita said.
Originally, the club was available to services personnel and their families, but today it’s here for the entire community to enjoy. “In a nutshell, we’re a local community club which brings people together,” Rita said. It is the club’s people, its view and location which makes it special, she said.
The club is strongly tied to the community and Rita said the thing they loved most about being part of the local community was being able to assist those less fortunate. “The club is always trying to assist those families and community groups, sporting organisations and schools that need help. We run charity balls, fundraisers, make donations and we also contribute via community club grants,” she said.
The club has a bistro-style food offering with a completely new menu of Australian contemporary dishes at The Bayview. It also offers function services, entertainment and social activities like club raffles, bingo and there’s also a kids’ area available.
